Monday, September 25, 2006 (3:30pm EST)
(2:47 minutes, 1.3 MB) - 4 1/2 hours of canoeing on Smoothwater Lake went not so "smooth" as a bit of a headwind and swells required the team to bail water at times. Great scenery and wildlife abound, including a huge lynx that was spotted on the shore. Camped on the lake now, the sun is coming out, but not-so-nice weather is in the forecast. That won't dampen the spirits of this group though, not with all the support and best wishes flowing in from across the country.

Friday, September 22, 2006 (7:30pm EST)
(4:49 minutes, 2.3 MB) - the team starts the day with some exciting introductions and warm welcomes to local schools. Next came a stressful, but temporary, glitch in the satellite communications system. After an hour of troubleshooting, this little hurdle was overcome and it was off to meet with Minister Ramsay. After all the planning and work involved to get to this point, it was an amazing day sharing visions of promoting health & fitness, tourism, and education in Canada. From there it was up to Temagami Outfitters for a great dinner and wonderful hospitality - not to mention a chance to grab some much needed rest up for a couple days before Monday's launch towards Ishpatina Ridge.
