Our Environment

All over the world, in our towns and cities, in our neighbourhoods and in our lives, we are surrounded by our environment. From the air we breathe, to the water we drink, to the planet we walk on, our environment connects every one of us. As far away as we may sometimes think we are, the separation of our geographic boundaries is often much smaller than we think. What happens in one part of the world frequently affects other parts of the planet.

Our world is changing from the effects of global warming and climate change. This often results in more (or less) rainfall (floods and droughts) in many regions, fewer trees, shrinking glaciers, and more pollution. Companies and individuals are all looking deeper into how we interact with our world and what we can do to reverse the damage we are creating before it is too late.

The Summits of Canada Expedition is committed to raising the awareness of environmental issues. We may not be able to dramatically change our environment quickly, but we believe that somewhere, someone, some person, some young student will hear our message, make a decision to learn more and start taking steps towards making a difference.
